I having been training in gyms and training myself for nearly a decade now and the main supplements I’ve used myself for building muscle and putting on muscle mass are; pre-workouts for that energy boost before my workouts, protein powder to try and boost my daily intake and get more protein in at the end of each day and lastly BCAA’s, to try and help with muscle recovery and suffer less soreness after really big workouts and training sessions.
These are my personal favourites that I’ve purchased and enjoyed over the years and given great results alongside a healthy diet and training regime. So do some research and give them a try!
Pre-Workout Of Choice
C4 Pre-Workout

One of the very first pre-workouts I tried and it’s a time tested product. Has been around for a long time and gives you a great energy kick before your workout.
Destroyer

At my local supplement store this is one of the cheaper options per serve, it’s got a much creamier taste which can be a great way to change things up from your regular supplement tastes.
Ghost Pre-Workout

Ghost is a newly loved pre-workout of choice with a really smooth taste, none of the standard aftertastes you get from some supplements, in terms of taste ghost is my absolute favourite.
Total War

Total war comes from a big name brand redcon and like all their products you’re getting a premium pre-workout that you can trust is going to give you the energy you need for a great workout with minimum crashes afterwards.
Top Protein Powders
Gold Standard Whey

One of the most commonly bought protein powders and for good reason, you’re getting real quality for money, with minimal calories and minimal sugar it’s perfect to up your protein intake without all the extra additives.
Musashi

A really smooth tasting protein powder without it tasting anything like a supplement, just like a milkshake Musashi is a great protein powder for it’s flavour, also coming in chocolate flavour.
Serious Mass

Serious Mass is a great source of protein if you’re looking to pack on size and struggling to gain muscle mass, it has plenty of extra carbs and calories, a few of these a day and you’ll definitely see yourself putting on some size.
Raw Protein

Raw protein, is a unique type of protein powder coming from more organic ingredients, which can be better for the body having protein coming from whole sources, and still has a nice smooth taste as well.
BCAA’s And Intraworkout
EHP Labs

EHP labs being such a trusted name in the industry and for good reason, they’re smooth tasting, well prices and very common to find in supplement stores. Great for muscle recovery and endurance.
Extend

One of the more recently BCAA’s I’ve tried having a much wider variety of flavours to try out, and coming in with a zero sugar option as well, xtend has a lot of supplements on the market and their BCAA’s are well trusted.
Cellucor

Cellucor’s Alpha Amino BCAA’s was again the first one I personally tried and have been buying ever since, I love the flavours they offer, put them in a shaker with some ice and it’s a nice refreshing way to get some extra Amino Acids and BCAA’s in.
Optimum Nutrition

Something a little bit different from the other options, optimum Nutrition offers BCAA’s in capsule form instead. Which can be very helpful when you’re already drinking, protein powders, pre-workouts and getting in your daily water intake, this can make getting your supplements in a lot easier for yourself.
Testimonials
“I’m always skeptical when buying flavoured protein powders I haven’t tried before, but I can not say enough good things about ON products. The banana flavour honestly blew me away, tastes exactly like those little banana lollies you’d get as a kid, can’t go wrong with any ON products.”
